What's recorded and what isn't, stated plainly

Employees know when they're being recorded, and companies see only what they should.

Recorded during a shift

  • When shifts and breaks start and end
  • Scheduled screenshots of the screen holding the app window
  • The active window's title
  • Keyboard and mouse idle time (duration only, never what was typed)
  • IP address at sign-in and clock-in

Never recorded

  • Anything on screen during a break or after clock-out
  • Your other monitors
  • What you type
  • Microphone and camera

Employees know

Recording starts only when the employee clicks Clock in, and the tray icon always shows the status. Employees can also sign in on the web to see their own hours and screenshots.

Access separation

Each company's data is kept separate. Employees can open only their own screenshots, and team leads only those of the members of the teams they lead. Nobody can remove the owner.

Transport and passwords

All data travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and the app keeps a device token rather than your password.

Retention

Screenshots are kept for 14 days by default. The owner and managers can set 1 to 90 days, and they are deleted automatically after that.

Before recording employees' screens, companies should tell them and follow local law.
