Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-11-05
This policy is part of the User Agreement and applies to all companies and users. Banshao is only for managing working time, with the knowledge of the people recorded.
1. Permitted use
A company may use Banshao to record the working time, and the screen during working time, of its own employees or contractors, provided it has told them, has the lawful basis the applicable law requires, and uses the records only for work purposes such as managing work, counting hours and checking pay.
2. Prohibited monitoring
You must not:
- Record someone without their knowledge, hide or disguise the app, or click “Clock in” for someone else.
- Record anyone under 18 or anyone who is a minor under local law.
- Record family members, partners, students, customers or anyone else who is not your employee or contractor.
- Record on a personal device without its user's consent and any other condition the law requires.
- Require employees to stay clocked in outside working hours or during breaks so that recording continues.
- Deliberately use the service to collect passwords, payment cards, medical or other sensitive information, or require employees to keep recording when you know the screen will show it.
3. Misuse of data
You must not use screenshots or data for harassment, stalking, discrimination, extortion or retaliation, publish or sell them, or use them for anything other than managing work. Give viewing rights only to people who really need them.
4. Protecting the service
You must not:
- Attack, probe or disrupt the service, or get around its security measures or access limits.
- Access another company's or person's data, or share accounts.
- Get around seat, trial or payment limits, or use several accounts to repeat a trial.
- Resell or rent out the service, or use it to run a monitoring business for third parties.
- Modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly allows.
- Upload malware or illegal content, or use the service for any illegal activity.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected breaches, ask the company for its lawful basis and how it gave notice, and depending on the case warn, restrict, suspend or terminate the account, or report to an authority. If an account is terminated for a serious breach, fees paid are not refunded, unless the law says otherwise.
6. Reporting
If you believe someone is using Banshao to monitor you or others covertly or unlawfully, email [email protected] or contact us through the /contact page. You can also complain to your local authority.
